Frequently asked questions

Dashboards, views and graphs

Dashboards, views and graphs Related to this page

What is the difference between Heartbeat and a dashboard?

Heartbeat is your fixed start page. Dashboards are personal collections of views that you configure for specific training questions.

What is a view?

A view is one report inside a dashboard, such as a line graph, bar chart, interval list, ranking, or activity list.

How should I read comparison graphs?

Your values use the primary brand color and comparison values use the secondary color. Always check the metric, activity type, and period in the heading.

Why do dashboards have limits?

Your subscription controls the number of dashboards and views per dashboard while keeping the same navigation and core features.

Heartbeat, score and training indexes

What is the Haystacking Score?

The Haystacking Score summarizes your current performance level and is used consistently across Heartbeat, athlete profiles, friends, and teams.

What is Body Stress Index?

Body Stress Index is the short-term signal for recent body and muscle stress. A low level can leave room to build, while a high level can indicate rising fatigue, muscle stress, and injury risk if recovery does not keep up.

What is Training Load Index?

Training Load Index follows your longer-term training load over 30 days against your established baseline. Low levels can indicate detraining or slipping maintenance, moderate levels suggest stable load, and higher levels show building or overload depending on recovery.

How should I use both training indexes?

Body Stress Index tells you what recent training is doing to your body now. Training Load Index shows the longer load direction from detraining through maintenance and building to overload. Read them together to distinguish recovery, a controlled build, and excessive stress.

Analytics

What is Analytics used for?

Analytics lets you create an immediate performance comparison by choosing activity type, metric, period, and comparison segment.

Which comparisons can I make?

You can compare with a previous period or athlete segments such as similar athletes, age group, gender, and country.

How should I use AI feedback?

Use AI feedback as an explanation of patterns and possible focus areas, not as medical advice or a replacement for your own training judgement.

Goals

Which goals can I create?

Goals combine an activity type, a measurable metric, a target, and a week, month, or year period.

How is goal progress calculated?

Progress compares your completed value in the selected period with the target value.

Does goal progress affect rankings?

No. Goal progress is personal and is never used in rankings.

Friends and comparisons

When can I compare with another athlete?

A comparison becomes available after both users have accepted the friend relationship.

What is shown on a friend page?

A friend page combines visible athlete information, latest allowed activities, score, and direct performance comparisons.

Can friends see my email?

No. Email is private and is never displayed on athlete or friend pages.

Teams

Who can change team settings?

The Owner and Admins can update team information and choose the ranking views shown on the team page.

Which rankings can a team show?

Haystacking Score is always shown. Up to five additional rankings can combine activity type, metric, and period.

How do I leave a team?

Members can leave directly. An Owner must transfer ownership, and an elevated member cannot leave without another Owner or Admin remaining.

Athletes and visibility

Which athletes can I find?

Athlete search returns profiles that are visible to the signed-in user.

What can an athlete choose to show?

Each athlete controls visibility for name, gender, age group, country, Haystacking Score and rank, and latest activities.

How is age group determined?

Age group is calculated automatically from birth year and changes when the athlete moves into a new age band.

What is the difference between Athlete and Friend?

An athlete page is a visibility-controlled profile. A friend page adds relationship-specific performance comparisons.

Activities

What is shown on an activity?

Activity details show activity type, name, date, distance, time spent, vertical gain, and effort when available.

Why can some values be zero?

Some metrics do not apply to every activity type. For example, strength training may not have distance or vertical gain.

How do I return from an activity?

The Back action returns to the page where you opened the activity.

Profile, connections and subscription

Where do I change units and profile information?

Profile contains your name, unit system, gender, birth year, country, and athlete-page visibility settings.

How do I connect an activity source?

Open Profile and choose Connect next to Garmin, Suunto, Strava, or Zwift.

What do subscription limits control?

Limits apply to dashboards, views per dashboard, history, activities, and goals.

How do I become a Pro user?

Pro is application-only for committed athletes and trusted voices who inspire an active community.
